Britney Jean Spears

Britney Jean Spears was conceived in McComb, Mississippi, and was raised in Kentwood. Britney was a dancer as a youngster and was a fantastic gymnast, winning many competitions. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. Britney was just 8 years old when she attempted to join The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), however her age was a factor to her being turned down. Then, she was directed to "Ruthless" which was an off-Broadway production in which she played as the lead persona for two years. She was back for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) in which time, she played an actual mouseketeer. But her most significant break was in the latter part of the 1990s when she signed a contract as a Jive Recording Artist. Britney's debut album, "...Baby, was released in 1999. Britney also sold 9 million copies (as at July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I Do It Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was born to Lynne Spears (and Jamie Spears) and has a bigger sister named Jamie Lynn Spears. Britney, a child of Madonna, Mariah Carey, and Whitney Houston, was always determined to be a star. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) on TV at age 8. But she was not old enough for the role. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister relocated to New York where she starred in several TV commercials as well as an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", where she was an understudy for Natalie Portman. She discovered her love of dancing and music two years later, when she was auditioning again for "Mickey Mouse" and won the part alongside Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera.
